Project #43795: Home Improvement

I wasn't sure what to select for project type. The situation is that my elderly handicapped mother has moved in with me because it is not safe for her to live on her own anymore and my entryway is not handicapped accessible. I have about four steps right inside the side door which is the only working door in and out of my house and I have hired and paid four different contractors to install handrails so that she can get in and out of the house safely and each time they have pulled out from the wall. I got estimates on installing rails that attach to the floor instead of the walls and the cost is way out of my budget and the project is way out of my wheelhouse of knowledge and skills. It breaks my heart that my Mom is basically a prisoner in my house because she cannot get out without my son and I helping her down the stairs plus it is really not safe in case of emergency. I will be forever grateful if you can help with this much needed project and I will figure out how to pay for the materials and I will happily provide the volunteers with anything they need (water, food, etc).
