Fellowship is Essential to Church Order
As
a general rule ten to twenty percent of the congregation participate in fellowship and
the rest of the members participate by association
with the group.
In the general community,
apart from the Church, it is also common for
individuals to work and socialize without fellowship, without faithfulness
and spiritual value for one another. Many live in fellowship
denial. They have lost track of how to care for other
individuals. Their minds are progressively given over to worldly
desires and distractions. They do not love anyone deeply, neither can they
receive love, and they often deny these essential facts to themselves and
to others.
In the Church we worship
God with hearts of devotion and out of that same devotion we discover a
sincere love for the faithful, a love that comes from a power beyond us, a love that overflows. In this close
fellowship our spirits are renewed. We receive deep joy, peace and patience.
Most of the community will
continue to deny the good news of the kingdom and
respond with disbelief, passive hostility or opposition. To be at peace with
the community everything we do in the Church must be done with gentleness
and humility. At the same time we should allow them to see the fellowship
we have with God and with those who love him.
